Natural resources play an important role in the two levers of climate change – mitigation and adaptation. Trees and greenery mitigate GHG emissions (CO2) from cars and buildings and adapt to climate change impacts such as extreme storms and heat. The enhancement and preservation of trees, natural landscapes, and open space further protects habitats, infrastructure, and public health.
